The steps below are for embedding media already resident in your Library into the content window. You must OWN the media you want to embed or you must be an Echo360 administrator with access to some set of media in the system.
The steps below are for uploading media to Echo360 then embedding the new upload into the content window. Most of the procedural steps are identical to embedding existing Echo360 media, with the exception of being able to upload the media first, before selecting it from your existing content list.
One option from the Embed Media dialog box is to launch Universal Capture and create a new capture, then select to embed the new media directly into the Blackboard content window. If Universal Capture is already installed on the computer, it will automatically open to the Preview screen.
The below procedure inserts a URL link for the media into the content window instead of embedding the media. A URL Link (also referred to as a Public Link or media Link) opens the media in a player outside of the LMS page where it resides (often in a new browser tab).
Next, upload the video file to your YouTube channel and copy the video’s URL. Note: If you are in the “Creator Studio” because you added captions, do not use the URL listed on the video’s edit page.
Then, go to the content area in your Blackboard course where you would like to embed the video. Click on the “Insert/ Edit Embedded Media” button in the text editor. In the window that pops up, paste the URL for your video.
If this value is set to true/1, the video will begin playback as soon as it has buffered. Otherwise it will wait for the user to press Play.
If this value is set to true/1, the video transport controls will be shown ( play, stop, pause, etc). If it is set to false/0, the controls will not be shown and the user will not be able to control playback at all. Obviously, in this case you would need to have autostart enabled or there will be no way to play the video.
If this value is set to true/1, the status bar is shown. This includes the buffering progress and playback status of the clip. Showing the status bar is a good idea as it shows the user how long they have to wait before the clip will be ready for playback
