Adaptive Release allows you to make Blackboard course content available to students only when they have fulfilled certain criteria. Basic Adaptive Release allows for a rule to be created based on limited criteria, while the advanced function allows for multiple rules to be used.

In the top right corner of your course you can click the Edit Mode button to turn the Edit Mode on and off. When Edit Mode is ON, you see all the course content and the editing controls for each item. You can edit posts in any thread. If a student added inappropriate or inaccurate content, you can edit the post. When you create or edit a forum, you control if students may edit their published posts. Open a forum and select a thread.
Locate an exam in your course content and click the action link (Chevron icon) of the test.

You can set a grade criterion to release an exam. When the grade criterion is created, the exam is not visible to students until the grade criterion is met.
You can create a review status criterion to release an exam. When this review status criterion is applied, the exam is not visible to students until the selected item is marked as reviewed.
Section 1 allows you to restrict the date along with using other release criteria. For example, one user may need to see the exam for only a particular date range.
Section 3 allows you to set the content item so that its release is dependent upon criteria from a specific grade book column. For instance, you can require that a previous quiz grade be higher than 70 before the second quiz is released.
Section 4 allows you to set Review Status. Use this option if students are expected to view a different item before having access to the item under consideration.
To delete Adaptive Release rules for a content item, hover over the item, and click the button that appears to the right of the item title. From the menu that appears on screen, select Adaptive Release: Advanced.
