The College requires students to maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 on their institutional coursework. The College considers grades of A through D as successfully passed; however, students on probation or academic plan status must pass all classes with a C or higher.
Graduate schools set different requirements for passing grades. In many graduate programs, students must earn at least a C or C-minus to pass a class. Many graduate schools also require a minimum 3.0 GPA to continue in the program.Aug 4, 2021
Usually, at institutions in the U.S., a D+ is a passing grade. However on a 4.0 scale it carries only one quality point. Very often, students who fail to maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average may be placed on academic probation, so a D+ doesn't really help a student.
To calculate your GPA, divide the total number of grade points earned by the total number of letter graded units undertaken.
An "N" grade is used to indicate that the student has not achieved a minimal level of accomplishment. This grading option is available in a limited number of courses listed below. No grade is assigned. No grade points assigned and no credits computed in GPA.
A letter grade of a D is technically considered passing because it not a failure. A D is any percentage between 60-69%, whereas a failure occurs below 60%. Even though a D is a passing grade, it's barely passing.
Is a 3.8 GPA good enough to get into college? Your GPA reflects your entire academic record. A 3.8 sits between an A and an A- and is a strong average. However, as you look toward the college admission process, you may see that some of the most selective schools have freshman classes with higher GPAs.Jun 12, 2019
