Blackboard Collaborate is—and always has been—designed specifically to meet the needs of instructors and learners.
The classroom shouldn’t be limited to four walls or 49 video feeds. To meet learners and instructors where they are, the virtual classroom should be endlessly adaptable. When learning circumstances or lesson plans change, the virtual classroom should change with them
For Jacksonville University, meeting students’ educational needs is fundamental to their mission and core to their success. University leaders realized that to attract and retain students, they must offer the premier educational experience expected of a prestigious university. Therefore, Jacksonville University’s leaders sought an educational technology platform that offered flexibility, ease of use, and integration with other campus technology systems—while being straightforward enough for their small team to support reasonably and effectively.
George Brown College’s (GBC) administration is highly focused on reimagining and providing learner-centered experiences, as outlined in their Vision 2030, Strategy 2022 Plan. Consequently, a core component of the plan—the student’s digital experience— immediately became a top priority. For George Brown’s Digital Learning Environment (DLE) team, this translates into a heightened emphasis on providing students with a consistent, barrierless, and impactful digital experience—one that spans the complete student lifecycle.
Keiser University, one of Florida’s premier private higher education institutions, incorporates a “students first” philosophy into all it does, both inside and outside the classroom. So, whether Keiser’s leaders were working to enhance courses, ensure programs were achieving the right student outcomes, or positioning faculty to be in lockstep with each student’s progress, one thing was clear—Keiser needed an integrated educational technology platform that could support the depth and breadth of their efforts.
Overall, I think Blackboard is an adequate software for classes to use as far as the basics go (e.g. putting syllabi and class readings online, administering quizzes and tests, grading). The look and feel of the software can be improved upon and it can be made more user-friendly, but overall, it does an okay job. Pros.
The software is very detailed. There are many part to one action, you can control everything you need to. It is easy to learn, which i have had to do. But also it is easy to learn and study on your own. The outcome results for example as on a register, is also detailed and self explanatory.
Blackboard is a great tool for school use. It allows you to stay organized and ahead of schedule. It is also a great way to stay in communication with professors and classmates to ask for help.
Blackboard provides effective resources to collaborate virtually both professors to students and students with fellow peers. It has several features to assist with collaboration such as live video chat capability, the ability to record lectures or view previously recorded lectures, and host discussions.
I like Blackboard, it is fairly easy to use, it has a feature that will show you your upcoming assignments due, it has a discussion board & email capability so you can contact your fellow students.
Blackboard Collaborate is an essential tool for online meetings. Provides more than just voice meetings and allows an interactive experience. This provided an excellent meeting experience for 9-12 high school students in an online environment.
It's a nice touch that it's browser-based, so there's no need for students to download a desktop version as it can be accessed anywhere. Students seems to benefit from the instant interaction with the teacher with the two-way webcam capabilities. Uploading files, slides, and videos is smooth and useful.
Blackboard Collaborate web conferencing provides two-way voice over the Internet, instant messaging, and a shared, interactive whiteboard to display educational content. All of these features create a rich and engaging learning environment that allows users to benefit fully from sessions regardless of their preferred learning styles.
At many academic institutions, the majority of distance courses use online asynchronous tools, possibly in conjunction with synchronous text chat or streaming video. However, with asynchronous technology, students can feel isolated and unmotivated working on their own with little contact with teachers and other students.
Often referred to as “digital natives,” today’s students have grown up in a digital world and demand that schools keep in step with their learning styles. At the same time, educators have realized that their teaching styles must change to keep students engaged and actively learning.
Recorded classes can be used for exam review, and information sessions can be pre-recorded to provide before a course begins . In addition, pre-recorded training for faculty, students, and staff on topics like commonly used applications or online library resources can be developed. Creating an easily accessible knowledge base of interactive, indexed recordings is easy with Blackboard Collaborate.
Live eLearning and web collaboration technology mirrors the interaction of the traditional classroom session or face-to-face meeting, while eliminating the need for expensive teleconferencing and travel. A single teacher can be leveraged to reduce the need for additional hiring, a regularly scheduled faculty meeting can be replaced with an Internet-based session, students from multiple campuses can be combined to fill an online class, and a remote subject matter expert can address a class in real time from across the globe without traveling a mile.
Blackboard Collaborate is an essential tool for us to allow for synchronous communication among our online instructors and students. It has been a valuable tool to support this real-time communication in these courses, especially for things like office hours and student presentations to the class.
Collaborate is a excellent online and remote classroom training tool that allows students to connect to class via a remote session. Features like: whiteboard, sync across devices, ability to make timed quizzes, and the ability to upload assignments and docs are some nice features.
Blackboard is being used by the whole Campus of the University, and it is helping students to catch up on their course work and also be punctual on all their assignments as well as their lectures.
