Guests in a course can include guest lecturers, potential students, or other users who aren't directly participating in your course. Observers are typically assigned to follow specific users in Blackboard Learn without interacting with the system. Observers can view your course and track student progress.
Guests will only have access to course content, assignments, and the syllabus. Guests will not have access to tests, discussion boards, and most course tools. For a guest to be enrolled in a Blackboard course, they must first have a VUnetID.
An observer is a special type of user account that has view-only access to content. Parents can use observer accounts to view their children's course materials and to monitor their children's activities within courses. Academic advisors can use observer accounts to follow students on Blackboard Learn.
Connect parents to students and students to parents Select the account Name to open the personal account information. Select the Students or Parents tab. In the Add Student or Add Parent area, type the Account name or ID and select Search. Add the appropriate account.
However, you may use Guest access to allow access to a limited area of your Blackboard course....Enable Guest access in your course.In the lower left Control Panel area, click Customization, select Guest and Observer Access.For 'Allow Guests' click the circle next to Yes.Click Submit.
On the Courses page, open the course's menu and select Enrollments. On the Enrollments page, open the username's menu and select Edit. On the Edit Enrollments page, select a new role from the Role menu. The role selected applies to this course only.
Course Builder. The Course Builder role has access to most areas of the course. This role is appropriate for an assistant who shouldn't have access to student grades. If the course is unavailable to students, a course builder can still access the course. The course builder can't remove an instructor from a course.
About course availability Blackboard administrators, instructors, course builders, teaching assistants, and graders can see and access unavailable courses from the My Courses tab and the course list, but they're marked as unavailable. Students can't access unavailable courses regardless of the course duration.

Go to your profile and select Change Password. On the Change Password panel, type your old password and your new password. Select Save when you're finished. If you change your system password, it won't affect any external accounts, such as Google, that you use to log in to Blackboard Learn.
