How do I integrate University of Turnitin with sandbox?

What is the FSCJ safe app?

Using Turnitin with Blackboard Ultra. Your Turnitin license is designed around empowering your organization to take control of plagiarism. You have access to an intuitive Similarity Report, providing text matches and an indicative similarity score.

Login Loop

When attempting to login to Blackboard, you may get pushed into a loop that takes you back to the Artemis/Connections login button loop. If this occurs, please clear you cache and close the browser, then try again. it may take a couple times, however this should resolve the issue.

Turnitin

We are currently researching an issue with Turnitin where the following may not be functioning correctly:

Grade Center Anomaly

Instructors may notice a visual anomaly in the grade center when entering grades, such as “19undefined00”. The grades will be entered and viewable in the grade history of the grade center and students will not notice anything unusual. We are currently working with Blackboard on a solution.

Creating an API scope and key

You must create a separate scope and key for every integration you create. If you have various environments in your organization, such as a development or sandbox environment, create a Scope for each of them. Give each scope a unique name to easily identify it at a later date i.e. 'University of Turnitin Sandbox'.

Managing existing setups

You can create multiple keys for your scope. To create more keys, select Create New Key to the right of your scope.

How Long will Blackboard be Accessible to Students and Faculty?

Now that we’re so very close to a full transition over to Canvas, many people have begun asking exactly how long faculty and the students will have access to Blackboard and how they should access it.

Blackboard Access for Students

The link to Blackboard was removed from the Student tab of myFSCJ on August 23, 2019.

Blackboard Access for Faculty

The link to Blackboard will remain on the Faculty and Employee tab through the Fall term and into the beginning of the Spring term. We have tentatively scheduled this link to be removed from these tabs on January 31, 2020.

New Blackboard Apps!

We are happy to announce that Blackboard has released a suite of new, improved mobile apps and that they are now compatible with myFSCJ for Fall 2017 and beyond! Blackboard has split the functionality of the apps to create one that is specifically tailored towards the needs of students and one that is perfect for instructor use!

Blackboard App (for Students)

The Blackboard App is the current name for the student-centered version of Blackboard mobile. It replaces the current Blackboard student app, which has been discontinued.

Blackboard Instructor

The Blackboard Instructor app is brand new, and only shows the courses that are being taught, not those that the user is enrolled in. Instructors can use the app to view and send announcements or make courses available for viewing by students.

Blackboard Course Shells - Now Available for Fall!

We are happy to communicate that Fall course shells have now been successfully loaded in Blackboard and have been associated with their instructors. Professors should be able to access them now by logging in to Blackboard via Artemis.

FSCJ Online Courses

Those that use a course master may not yet have the associated content loaded into the shell. At this point, all A term master course content should be loaded into the Blackboard shells. The work of loading B term course content should be completed this week.

Online Syllabus Builder

The link to the Online Syllabus Builder is now visible within my.fscj.edu under the newly designed Faculty tab. Please view our separate post regarding the online syllabus builder for more information.

FAQs

Any courses that were encoded within the last week or so will not be available in Blackboard until the final migration is complete and all data has been transitioned over. We appreciate the patience of all instructors who were recently added.
