(If you want to figure the puzzle out for yourself, take a break and come back to us.) To solve the puzzle, you must ask one guard (it doesn't matter which one) which door the other guard would say leads out. Both guards will indicate the same door, which will be the door that doesn't lead out.Jan 14, 2016
If Red is the liar If Red is the gatekeeper who lies, then this makes Blue the truth teller. If Blue tells the truth, then he would not tell Sarah that Red's door is correct – he would confirm that his own door is the correct pathway. Once again, this makes Blue the correct door.Jul 24, 2020
Behind one of the doors is a car and behind each of the other 99 doors is a goat. The game show host then opens 98 of the 100 doors leaving only two closed doors (the one Zane picked and one other). The host makes the same offer (allowing Zane to change his pick if he wishes). ANSWER: Zane should choose the other door.
The solution to the original problem is: “If I were to ask the other guard which door leads to freedom, what would s/he say?” If you ask the liar, s/he will lie about what the truth-teller would say, and will point you to the door that leads to death.

Right Door Knocker : You can talk, all you do is moan! Left Door Knocker : No good! Can't hear you!
Behind one door is a car, behind the others, goats. You pick a door, say #1, and the host, who knows what's behind the doors, opens another door, say #3, which has a goat.
As Monty has opened door 2, you know the car is either behind door 1 (your choice) or door 3. The probability of the car being behind door 1 is 1/3. This means that the probability of the car being behind door 3 is 1 – (1/3) = 2/3. And that is why you switch.
The Monty Hall problem has confused people for decades. In the game show, Let's Make a Deal, Monty Hall asks you to guess which closed door a prize is behind. The answer is so puzzling that people often refuse to accept it! The problem occurs because our statistical assumptions are incorrect.

Sarah knows to do the opposite of the answer she's given, which allows her to choose the right door. Of course, in the Labyrinth the right way isn't always obviously the right way. Sarah goes through the door, and immediately falls through a trap door into the Shaft of Hands.
In Labyrinth, the protagonist's solution is to ask one of the guards: "Would [the other guard] tell me that [your] door leads to the castle?" With this question, the knight will tell the truth about a lie, while the knave will tell a lie about the truth.
