Blackboard’s Set Timer tool has an Auto-Submit option. Auto-Submit will submit a student’s exam when the timer runs out, as opposed to an accidental closure of the browser or lost Internet connection. If the student incurs a short technical problem that kicks the student out of the exam, the student can log back into Blackboard quickly and reenter the exam where he/she left off.
When creating a timed test, you have the option for Blackboard to Auto-Submit the test after the time limit is reached. You can force the test to submit automatically when. the time limit is reached by turning "Auto-Submit" option ON. If Auto-Submit is OFF, Blackboard will not force a submission at the end of a timed test, but will warn the student when they have 1 minute left to submit the test themselves.

Respondus Monitors accesses the computer's webcam and microphone to record the exam environment while recording the computer screen.

For tests, after you select the title, the View Attempts page opens. Select the grade to review your submission. To view the grades for the course you're in, select the My Grades link on the course menu or on the Tools page. Your instructor controls which links appear on the course menu.

No, Blackboard cannot tell when a student switches tabs on an unproctored test but the LockDown Browser disables switching tabs in a proctored test. The LockDown Browser restricts various actions and activities during tests.
As an instructor, you can see when your students opened, started, and submitted tests and assignments with the Student Activity report. In general, this feature looks and functions the same whether you're working in an Original or Ultra course.
