You may have to upload a new copy of the file if needed. We would recommend uploading a PDF of the file if possible as this will allow students to view the file in the browser, this also adheres to the Blackboard Protocols. PDFs can be uploaded to Blackboard sites and displayed for students in a variety of ways. Most common of these is to add them as items within folders. This is done using the Build Content drop down menu, firstly by creating a folder (Fig 1), then by adding PDFs as attachments within Items (Fig 2).

To attach a file from your computer, click Browse My Computer. A dialogue box will open where you can search through your folders and Open the file you wish to attach. Highlight your file, and click Open to attach. Your Upload Assignment options will then show your file under the list of Attachments.

Select Browse My Computer to upload a file from your computer. Drag files from your computer to the "hot spot" in the Attach Files area. If your browser allows, you can also drag a folder of files. The files will upload individually.
There are problems with adding attachments to student email or uploading files in Blackboard with the internet browsers Edge, Internet Explorer, and Safari. From the Add Content list, select a tool to locate your file. Then Browse to locate your file. Select your file in your tool of choice. If you simply Browse for the file, Blackboard should recognise the filetype of the file you are uploading, and change the Type field accordingly.Jul 27, 2018
Go to Original Course View page. You can upload file attachments in your course, such as to an assignment. Users select a link to open a file that appears in the course. After you upload a file, you may be able to edit the link name to the file.
