Using Blackboard can be helpful to you and your students. Blackboard is a course management system that allows you to provide content to students in a central location, communicate with students quickly, and provide grades in an electronic format to students.
Blackboard Learn is not the easiest platform to use but has ample training available. If start up time does not allow for a lot of training hours, there are less complex LMS's out there.
They provide all the equipment you will need.
The main disadvantage to chalkboards is chalk dust. It gets all over everything. You even breath it in. But if you use markers on a whiteboard, you'll breath in some chemicals which may be even worse.
Overall: My overall experience with Blackboard Collaborate is always amazing. My grades have improved so much with this and I have been so much more organized because it comes with a calendar and reminder of when assignments are due and I never miss an assignment.

I worked for Blackboard as a Remote Customer Service Advisor temporarily and I really enjoyed my time. The job became fairly easy after about 3 days into production. Loved the bonuses and how nice and polite the staff are as well. Also they send all the equipment to you which is a huge plus that I was so grateful for.
