Withdrawing is not the same thing as dropping a class early in the semester. When a student drops a class, it disappears from their schedule. After the “drop/add” period, a student may still have the option to Withdraw. Withdrawal usually means the course remains on the transcript with a “W” as a grade.
If a student drops a course after the last day to drop a course without a grade, the process is referred to as withdrawing from a course. To withdraw from a course, a student must begin in his or her academic advising unit by completing the Course Withdrawal Form.
If courses have not been paid in full or if you have a balance owed to cashiers for other items, any credit you receive from dropping classes is applied to your student account balance first, before a refund check is issued. Refunds due to withdrawal from the University are subject to various conditions.
