Blackboard is the learning management system used by Alpena Community College. Blackboard enables instructors to provide students with access to course materials, communication tools, online assessments, grades, and the ability to submit assignments electronically. Blackboard student accounts are available at the beginning of each new semester.

Students taking online courses will have access to Blackboard 1 week before the official start date of the semester. Students taking on-campus courses will have access beginning the first day of class.

When you hover your mouse over the Blackboard Community, you will see a down arrow after the community. Click on the arrow. You will see the Enroll option. Click on Enroll to join the Blackboard Community.

Key differences between courses and organizations Courses are created for each course code. The students are added automatically to the course once they are registered for teaching in Student Web. Organizations, on the other hand, are only created by request.
