In the Grade Center, locate the cell with the student's graded test or assignment grade to override and access its menu. Select View Grade Details. On the Grade Details page, select the Manual Override tab and type a new grade in the Override Grade box. Optionally, type Feedback to User and Grading Notes for yourself.

Go to the gradebook grid view and click within a student's overall grade cell. You can enter a new value or choose from the overall grade notations you set up for the course. The grade cell is shaded gray to indicate that the grade has been overridden.

Exempt grades You can exempt a grade from a student's record and the grade is ignored in all Grade Center calculations. The grade cell displays the Exempt icon.
Exempting a student means that the points for that assignment do not factor into the student's overall grade and therefore do not positively or negatively impact the student's grade.
To access the test options, locate the exam you would like to edit the settings for. Hover over the name of the test, and click the chevron button that appears next to the test and select Edit the Test Options from the menu that appears.Mar 23, 2021
