(Bb Ultra) Make Your Course Available By default, Blackboard course sites are Private -- accessible to instructors but not students. When you are ready for your students to have access to your course site, you'll need to open it. To open a course, go into the course site. L ook under DETAILS & ACTIONS and find where it says "Course is private."

Log into Blackboard Learn and enter the course. In the Course Management menu under Customization, click Properties. Under Set Availability, check the radio button next to "Yes" for Make Course Available. Click the Submit button.

To activate your Blackboard course, it first needs to have been set up in Campus Solutions by an administrator, and you must also be enrolled on it as a Primary Instructor. Check with your school/programme administrator if you can't see the Blackboard course listed in the staff portal.
If the link to your course name is not active and it says "unavailable" or "not currently available" next to the name, it means your instructor has not yet made the course available to students. About course availability Blackboard administrators, instructors, course builders, teaching assistants, and graders can see and access unavailable courses from the My Courses tab and the course list, but they're marked as unavailable. Students can’t see courses in Blackboard even if they are enrolled if the course is “unavailable.” The instructor of the course is responsible for allowing students access. Blackboard courses are unavailable by default when the course is created in order to allow the instructor time to prepare the course before students see it.
