Late work. After the due date has passed and you open an assignment, you're alerted that your submission will be marked late. You can view the alert in the Details & Information panel, on the assignment page, and in the submit confirmation window.
In most universities, a late assignment submission penalty is taking 5% off the total allocated marks for that assignment. Such would be deducted for the first seven days, after which the professor will not accept the assignment again.Sep 3, 2021

Hover over the the grade area and click the gray drop-down arrow for more options, then click View Grade Details.
