Columns can be deleted in Blackboard by opening the Grade Center and selecting the down arrow at the far right of the column. This will open a dropdown menu, and "Delete Column" should be the last option.

After you add content to a course, Ally creates alternative formats of the content based on the original. For example, if the original content is a PDF, Ally creates audio, electronic braille, and ePub formats of the same content. These formats are made available with the original file so everything is in one convenient location.
You can delete an item from your course or hide it from students to preserve the information. Students can't access hidden items on the Course Content page. If you delete a folder or learning module that has content, the content is also removed from the Course Content page.
To access the Full Grade Center, first click on Grade Center in the Control Panel and then select Full Grade Center (shown below).
Locate the column that you wish to hide, and click on the chevron in the column header.
You will then see a dialog box similar to the one image above that says "Delete this column and all of its associations? This action is final and cannot be undone." Click OK to delete the column.

Grade Center columns that were manually created can easily be deleted because they are not tied to something specific in the course. Commonly, face-to-face courses have more manually created columns since students are physically turning work into the instructor.
Many of the assessments that you create in Blackboard automatically generate a column in the Grade Center so you do not have to create one. Commonly, online and hybrid courses have columns in the grade center that were automatically created since students are submitting work online via Blackboard.
Blackboard has a maximum file size for upload of 1 Gb, however it is strongly recommended that you keep files to 500 Mb or less. Browse my Computer: Click to attach a file, such as a Word document or PowerPoint, which resides on your personal computer.
Any time you want to make changes to your Blackboard course, be sure that Edit Mode is turned on. The button will be located near the top right of your screen.
An example of content-based organization is creating a folder for all your lecture notes, another for readings, another for assignments, etc.
You can attach an image file, and the student will need to click to open the image. For images, using the Image option from the Build Content Menu will give you more options. Any time you want to make changes to your Blackboard course, be sure that Edit Mode is turned on.
