In order for you to try out different functionality in Blackboard, we have created exercise areas, so-called Sandboxes. In the Sandbox you are enrolled with colleagues from your own department and your role is teacher. This allows you to access all tools, features and settings.
A sandbox course is a private space where you can test items without impacting your live course(s). In your Sandbox Course, you will have the instructor role that allows you to utilize and practice with all tools available in a regular Canvas course.
A Sandbox course is a space created for an individual instructor to experiment with Quercus. Initially, Sandbox courses have no content added to them and only the one instructor added. Instructors are encouraged to experiment with the new functionality offered and add colleagues and support individuals as needed.Jan 31, 2018
Where can you find your sandbox course? This course can be found by clicking on the pull down arrow next to Courses at the top of the page. The course should be titled by your last name and then Sandbox. For example, if your name is James Jones, your sandbox course will be called Jones Sandbox.
- Sandbox: A Canvas sandbox is basically a course shell that students do not have access to. Sandboxes are used to build content in a space that can be reset, changed, and without the worry of students seeing any in-progress content. To add a facilitator or colleague to your sandbox course, click the People item in your course menu. A form will pop where you can enter the login ID(s) and the role for the person or people you want to add to your course.
