Photos taken on smartphones, tablets and some cameras can look great on your device but appear upside down or sideways when uploaded to a post or page because the device stores the image's orientation in the EXIF metadata and not all software is able to read the metadata.

Apple decided that when you capture a photo with the volume buttons facing skyward, like most people do since we're used to camera shutter buttons being on top, this is actually upside down. This would be due to the camera app taking the photo, and the metadata stored within the photo. If it is not storing the proper metadata, then the recipient of the photo will not know which way is supposed to be the up orientation. You may also want to check the auto-rotate settings of your camera/phone.
