Change a user's role for a course Search for a course. On the Courses page, open the course's menu and select Enrollments. On the Enrollments page, open the username's menu and select Edit. On the Edit Enrollments page, select a new role from the Role menu.

Click Add Users by Role If you do not know the usernames of the users you wish to enroll, you can search using the Search box at the top of the page. You can search by Last Name, First Name, Username, Email address or Person ID (student ID / staff ID). Click Go. Select the users from the results and click Submit.
Allow guest and observer access On the Control Panel, expand the Customization section and select Guest and Observer Access. On the Guest and Observer Access page, select Yes for Allow Guests and Allow Observers.
Navigate to the Users area in the Blackboard Learn organization. Click Batch Enroll Users. Browse for the file location of the CSV file, then upload/open it. Leave the delimiter type on Automatic.
The Guest role allows prospective students, alumni, and parents to explore Blackboard Learn without making any changes to users, courses, or content. Users with the role of Guest are unauthenticated users.

Expand the Users and Groups section on the Control Panel and select Users. Next to a course member's name, open the menu. Select Change User's Role in Course. Select a role and then select Submit to save.
