Introduction

When creating questions for your Blackboard Test, you may wish to add Audio or Video files for students to respond to.

Upload Audio or Video

These instructions describe how to upload a video or audio file saved on your computer into Blackboard to appear in a test question. For example, an audio language clip that you want students to listen to and answer questions about.

Embed Videos

In the Blackboard text editor use the Embed symbol to add the html Embed Code

How the Media is Displayed

The media will display in the question text area. You can change where this is placed as with all media in the Blackboard Text editor.

Rubrics

If your instructor associated a rubric with an assignment, it's listed under Details. You can view the rubric before you start the submission.

Submission receipts

The Blackboard app records the date and time of each assignment attempt. To view a list of your attempts in the app, tap Current Grade and select a graded item.

Original course file attachments

Tap Add Content for an Original course assignment and insert your content in these ways.

Ultra course file attachments

When you tap Add Content for an Ultra course test or assignment, you see the editor. You can insert your content in these ways.

Adding an Image to a Test Question

Before anything, import the test or pool into Blackboard. (You may create a marker in the test items with images to make them easily identifiable.)

Click the Question Settings box

In the Images, Files, and Web Links section check the box beside Add images, files, and web links to answers.

Selecting a Question Type

With the Test Canvas open, Click on Create Question and select File Response from the menu.

Editing Categories and Instructor Notes

Categories and Keywords: Click the Add button to add tags for Categories, Topics, Levels of Difficulty, and Keywords.

Confirmation

The question you created will now appear on the test canvas. Click the Points value to change the number of points.

A number of the communication tools (discussion forums, blogs, journals, and wikis) allow instructors and students to upload file attachments, by using either the “Browse My Computer” button, or by using the "Attach File‟ option in the Visual Text Box Editor (VTBE).
