If a student submits an attempt after the due date, the attempt is marked late. Attempts submitted before the deadline are shown as on time. You can only override the final grade, not the grades for each attempt. More on grading an assignment with multiple attempts.
All Blackboard assignments will allow late submissions, however students can only submit late if the assignment submission point available to them. To make sure the submission point is available to the students edit the submission point by clicking on the arrow and choosing Edit. Scroll down and check the Due Date.
Set Timer: To set a timer, check the box next to “Set Timer”. This will require you to enter a time limit. The time limit in Blackboard is calculated in minutes (i.e. a test with a 2 hour time limit would be entered as 120 minutes). Enter the due date for the assignment. The due date will display to the student on the submission screen after they click the Assignment link. Students can still access and submit the assignment after the due date passes, but any submission arriving after the due date will be marked “Late” in the grading interface.
