In order for you to try out different functionality in Blackboard, we have created exercise areas, so-called Sandboxes. In the Sandbox you are enrolled with colleagues from your own department and your role is teacher. This allows you to access all tools, features and settings.
A sandbox course is a private space where you can test items without impacting your live course(s). In your Sandbox Course, you will have the instructor role that allows you to utilize and practice with all tools available in a regular Canvas course.

Sandboxes are used to build content in a space that can be reset, changed, and without the worry of students seeing any in-progress content.
