New Degree Students

Newly accepted students who have not yet paid their enrollment deposit will need to set up their MyRIC Account password first before paying the deposit.

Non-Degree or Visiting Students

If you have never taken courses at the College before you can create an account online .

Returning Students

If it has been three semesters or more since you have been enrolled, you need to call the Records Office at 456-8213 so that we can either enter your information into the system or update your record.

MOVING YOUR COURSE ONLINE

All Rhode Island College courses are now available and accessible within Blackboard. Enrollments are managed automatically, so students who are registered for your course this semester should already be able to access your course within Blackboard. If you are experiencing difficulty with enrollments, contact User Support Services Help Desk.

MANAGING MULTIPLE COURSE SECTIONS

If you teach multiple sections of a course (also called “child courses”), you may manage all of your sections though a single “master” online course. If all enrolled students have access to your master course, you can place an announcement in the child courses to refer students back to the master course, where you’ll be posting your new content.

Want to record a lecture and then upload it? No problem with Kaltura Capture. You can use Kaltura to record your audio narration within your PowerPoint presentations, record your computer screen and audio narration, or record just yourself with a video camera (or phone) and/or accompanying audio.

TOOLS FOR STUDENT WORK

Blackboard offers a variety of tools that allow your students to interact and submit work.

What is Blackboard?

Blackboard is the learning management program RIC Faculty use for online instruction and communication. Students can access course materials their professors make available and may participate in class discussions, take tests and quizzes, submit assignments and more.

How do I log in to Blackboard?

Go to blackboard.ric.edu and log in using your RIC username and password. If your RIC email address is [email protected], your username is smith123. Do not enter the entire email address in the username field.

I can log in to MyRIC, but I cannot log in to Blackboard

If you registered for a course during open registration or after classes have begun, it can take up to 24 hours before your information is loaded into Blackboard.

Minimum computer requirements?

You will need a connection to the internet and a supported web browser (e.g. Edge, Chrome, Safari and Firefox).

Can I access Blackboard on my smart phone?

The Blackboard app is available to all RIC students for free. The app does not provide access to all of the features available via the browser version.

Course Enrollment

Students do not have access to courses once the semester has ended. If you have received an incomplete or require additional materials from the course, please contact your instructor.
