Create an Essay question When you create a new test, select the plus sign to open the menu and select Add Essay question. You'll use the same process when you create questions in tests and assignments. The Test Content area opens where you create the Essay question. Questions have a default value of 10 points.
An essay question will have an instruction or action word(s), e.g. Discuss, Explain, Evaluate, etc. You will need to think about these words and their usage, if you are writing your own question, as they will indicate what is to come in your essay.
