On the Grading Schemas page, click the Letter Action Link to access the contextual menu. Select Edit. On the Edit Grading Schema page, edit the Name, if desired, and add an optional Description. In the Grades Scored Between text box, enter the percentage range for the letter grade.

The WEIGHTED TOTAL column enables instructors to set the weight (or value) of individual assignments and assignment categories independent of the number of points in an assignment. If you set every assignment to 100 points but count one assignment as 10% and another as 25%, this is the column for you.
The weighted system calculates grade items as a percentage of a final grade worth 100%. The Max. Points you assign to individual grade items can be any value, but their contribution towards the category they belong to and the final grade is the percentage value (weight) assigned to them.
Extra Credit (add percentage points to the final average) It will affect the student's final average total percentage. The student's final average percent increases by the number of percentage points scored. For example, a student has a 90% final average in the class and earns 4% on an extra credit assignment.
Since the papers category is worth 50% of the Course Grade, the extra credit item (if given full credit) is worth 2.5% of the Course Grade (. 05 x 50). Enter a Points value for the Extra credit Item. When grading by points set this number in some relationship to the percentage number for easier calculation.
To make a Bonus item in weighted grades act like extra credit points, weight the item relative to the total points. For example, if a Bonus item is worth 10 points and there are 500 points in the category (not including bonus pts), then weight the item at 10/500 = 0.02 or 2%.
