Blackboard Course Site. Blackboard Learn is the platform utilized at BU for course sites. General information about Blackboard can be found at this link. A Blackboard site may already exist for the course (s) you are teaching. Ask your Program Director if this is the case, and if so, request that they “roll over” the course to you.
Nov 01, 2021 · Step 1 From your course list, select the course you wish to copy FROM (the source course). Step 2 Select Packages and Utilities link from the Control Panel. Step 3 Select Course Copy. Step 4 Select the options for the Course Copy. Click on Browse to select the course you want to copy to (your new course).
Sep 13, 2021 · In the left menu under Course Management, click Copy This Course. Under “Select Copy Type”, select Copy Course Materials into an Existing Course. For Destination Course ID, click the Browse button. This will open a pop-up window where you may choose your new course ID (i.e. your new Blackboard course shell). Click Submit.
Copy Course Materials into a New Course: Copying course materials into a new course creates a course in the system and populates it with content from a course already in the system. The course menu specified in the source course will replace the default menu in the new course.
When you copy, the course availability of the source course is applied to the destination course. If the destination course's availability is set to unavailable, but the original course is available, the destination course's availability is changed.
When you content and tools from one course to an existing course, the course menu must resolve itself in the destination course.
When you copy course materials into an existing course, the existing course might already have content and tools in the course menu. The course menu might have the same name and type or the names and types might be different between the two courses.
An exact copy creates a new course and includes course materials, user enrollments, and staff assignments. For example, if a course is split into multiple sections to accommodate a large number of students, you can make an exact copy and then adjust the enrollment to create two sections of the same course.
If you're creating a course that has many of the same features as an existing course, you can copy the existing course to create a new course. You can copy all course materials or a subset of course materials into a new or existing course. You also have the option to include or exclude user enrollments from the destination course.
From your course list, select the course you wish to copy FROM (the source course).
Mason generally recommends the default Copy links and copies of the content option. However, if you have content stored, but not available to students, in your course or you have video package files (e.g., Camtasia) choose the third Copy links and copies of the content (include entire course home folder) option. Click Submit when you are done.
It is strongly suggested that you complete a "Course Copy" only once AND before you do any design work or add any content in the new course. Completing multiple course copies may result in duplication of content, course files, and Grade Center columns.
