Blackboard Support can set up a free version for you to use SMTP messaging for SMS notifications. For more sophisticated messaging, a full Connect account may be required. You need to send a request to Blackboard Support to establish the proxy tool on your system.
In a course, access the Messages page on the navigation bar. All your course messages and responses appear. You can easily scan the entire list and open a message to read all the responses. Your unread messages appear first in the list.
Non-emergency messages: 53291 or 91841 (for clients who have a dedicated non-emergency message configured for their account)
Turn on or change notification display on your device Select Notifications and locate Blackboard in the list of apps. Android: Go to Settings. Locate Apps, select Blackboard, and tap Notifications.
Access your messagesFrom the Blackboard Communications HQ interface menu, select Messages > Inbox.Select the Subject to open a specific message. You can view the detailed date, time, and address that sent the message if you select Show Delivery Details. You can also Remove the message when finished.
Participants can only chat privately with moderators: Private chat is available by default. When selected, participants can only chat privately with moderators. If you don't select it, participants can chat privately with any body else in the session.
Blackboard Connect is a mass notification system that lets you send updates and emergency alerts to everyone in your community through emails, phone calls, text messages, or social media channels. The notification system alerts you when events occur in your courses, such as when items are due, grades are available, new content and tests are made available, and when you have unread discussions and blogs. Notifications are generated automatically whenever the associated events occur.
