A once hidden feature in Blackboard is the “Show Statistics to students” setting. When this option is selected, students will then be able to see the assignment’s average and median. This is an excellent opportunity for students to see how the class performed on an assignment or test.

Average: Generates the average for a selected number of graded items, categories, and other calculations. For example, you can find the average score on all tests. Total: Generates a total based on the cumulative points, related to the points allowed.
Under Control Panel, click Grade Center, then Full Grade Center. 1. Point to the Create Calculated Column button in the action bar, and select Average Column 2. from the menu.
Locate the Weighted Total column in the Grade Center. Click the Action Link (drop-down arrow) in the column heading, then select Edit Column Information from the menu. If you do not have a Weighted Total column, create one by clicking Create Calculated Column > Weighted Total.
