Course banners are not available in Ultra Course View at this time, but they are included in research and development that Blackboard is doing on a course landing page. No timeline is currently available.
1. From your course Control Panel expand the Customisation section and choose Style.
2. Scroll down to Section 5 “Select Banner” and click on Browse My Computer and select your Course Banner file in JPG, GIF, or PNG format.
We recommend choosing a Banner size of 1618 x 300 with 72 DPI (dots/pixels per inch).
Adjust these dimensions as required. Although most modern monitors are at least 1024 pixels wide – and often much larger – remember that your students might access Blackboard from a variety of devices, so it is generally best to avoid banner images which are much wider than 800 pixels.
This helps to personalise the design of the course, and acts as a visual aid for users to let them know which course they are looking at.
