Inline Assignment Grading provides a way to grade assignments within your Blackboard course. Instead of needing to download student files for viewing, instructors are able to view these files “inline,” i.e. in the web browser, without the need for plug-ins or additional software.

You can create and manage grade notations to override a student's overall grade if their performance falls outside the defined schema. For example, if a student has to withdraw from your course in the middle of a semester, you can use a grade notation to indicate the student's circumstance or situation without assigning an actual grade.
In list view, students' grade pills display "0" when no submissions exist and the due date has passed. The label Automatic zero appears next to the grade pills. The label Complete also appears as you have nothing to grade. Automatic zeros post automatically.
You can exempt students from assessment due dates or time limits. Use accommodations to help students progress in the course even though they may have difficulty with some requirements.
You can make changes to the default grading schema. You can also view the gradebook categories and create and manage rubrics. Last but not least, you can create and manage grade notations to override a student's overall grade and assign automatic zeros.
You can export the file in a comma-delimited (CSV) or tab-delimited (XLS) format. You choose whether to save the file to your device or the Content Collection.
You can choose to automatically assign zeros to missing work past the due date. Students and groups can still submit work after an automatic zero is assigned. Then, you can grade as normal.
Log into your Blackboard course and click on the Discussion Board link in the course menu.

With graded discussions, instructors can assess students' ability to: think critically, express their thoughts in a clear way, and communicate with others. Instructors can show a student where their contributions excel and where they can improve by assigning them a grade. Discussion boards also create a permanent record of participation.
Student work submitted through the assignment tool allows instructors to submit a grade, comments, and markup on some document types that are privately visible to the student or student group that made the submission. Instructors can also make grading notes visible only to themselves and those with a Teaching Assistant or Grader role in the course.
Grading can be accessed from the "Needs Grading" area or directly from the Grade Center. To do so from the Grade Center, click in the cell of the assignment you want to grade, and select the assignment by submission date. If multiple attempts were made, they will appear here in a list:
Beginning on June 3, 2020 the markup tools in Blackboard have been updated to Blackboard Annotate, which looks as outlined in orange in the picture below.

To access the Grade Center for a Blackboard course, log into your Blackboard course and go to the Control Panel:
You will now see the Full Grade Center. To create reports, click on the Reports and choose Create Report from the menu.
You will now see a screen labeled Create Reports. The section labeled Header Information allows instructors to customize the report header. To include the fields in the header, check the checkbox to the left of the field name:
The Users section allows instructors to select which users to include in the report. The available options are All Users, All Users in Group, or Selected Users. To select multiple groups or users, hold down the Control key (command key on Mac) while selecting users.
Under User Information: Use the checkboxes to select what user information to include in the reports:
The Columns section allows the instructor to select which columns to include in the report:
