To save space in your Blackboard course, you might want to delete unused files in the course content collection. This document describes how to do that. Navigate to your course content collection . Place a check mark next to the file you want to permanently remove from the course and click the Delete at the bottom of the screen.

Content areas, such as Users, Courses, Institution, and Library, are folders stored under the root folder. A folder is automatically available to the user who created it, and may also be visible to other users if you create it in the course area.
In the Control Panel, click Packages and Utilities to expand this menu and click Bulk Delete. In the Select Content Materials to Delete section, select the check boxes for all of the materials within the course that you want to delete.

Content folders offer a familiar, tree-like structure that provides convenient access to files on a content server without having to use that server's own user interface (web-based or otherwise). You can rearrange the order of content items (or folders) within a course content area, simply by dragging each item to the desired position. You can't edit a submitted assignment, but you may be allowed to resubmit it. However, you can't resubmit all assignments. Check if you can submit an assignment more than once. If you can't and made a mistake, you must contact your instructor to ask for the opportunity to resubmit the assignment.
The Files and Folders area is a designated area for uploading and storing files. Files & Folders is an excellent tool for pre-planning content for your workspace. Each Site, Subsite, Channel, and Section Workspace has one dedicated Files & Folders area. Users with editing privileges to a workspace have access to its Files & Folders. You can access Files & Folders two different ways, on the Tools tab or by selecting Files & Folders in Common Tools.
Multiple files can be selected to upload simultaneously. For PC users, holding the Ctrl Key while selecting files allows you to choose multiple files to upload. Holding the Shift Key allows you to select a contiguous group of files. For Mac users, using the Command Key and Shift Keys allow the same selections.
There may be times when you need to update a file to which you’ve already linked within your site. This process saves you the work of recreating each link. The updated file must have the same name and extension as the existing file when updating.
You can get a link to your file to use for linking the file in multiple locations. Using the file link allows you to house the file in one location for use in multiple areas without cluttering your pages.
If versioning is disabled, no history of past versions will be stored after the file is overwritten.
To access a file's versions, go to the folder that contains the file. Select Versions from the file's menu, or select the number that appears in the Versions column next to the file. The Manage Versions page lists the following information about each version: The version number as a hyperlink.
If you want to replace an existing file in the Content Collection, you can overwrite it on the Overwrite File page. Overwriting a file doesn't change the name of the file. You must have read, write, and remove permissions for a file to overwrite it.
The IP address of the computer used to access the file. If a user interacts with a file the same way multiple times, the tracking log will only record the first operation . For example, if a user opens and reads the same document multiple times, only the first operation will be recorded.
Some WebDAV clients may perform multiple operations when used with the Content Collection. For example, when a file is read, a read operation may appear twice in the tracking log, even though the user has only read the file once.
