When you create a course, Blackboard Learn requires only two course properties: a course name and a course ID. However, several other course properties control important aspects of courses, such as when they're available.
A complete course is in a read-only state. Enrolled students can open the course and access the course content as normal, but are not able to interact in the course, such as participate in discussions or submit assignments.
Course themes add a background image to the course display and change the color of the user interface, including the course menu, buttons, and controls. The theme can be changed again at any time. Applying a theme doesn't affect course content or a chosen course structure.
You may find it most useful to bulk delete course materials at the end of a course. You can select the materials you want to delete and keep the rest for use in the future. For example, you can delete students and grades from a course, but keep the content.
At this time, the Complete Course option is only available for the Ultra Course View. Only instructors can set a course to complete from the Courses page. Administrators can control course availability from the Administrator Panel, but can't mark a course as complete in this area.
Blackboard Registration (Genius) has revamped our Blackboard REST API grade center download integration rules to minimize the impact on the instructor. The Blackboard Learn Ultra and Original courses grade center must be setup correctly to pass running total grades and completion flags back to Genius automatically.
In Blackboard Learn Ultra courses, the “Overall grade” or “Overall result” is the default running total grade for a course-section. In Blackboard Learn Original courses, the “Total” column is typically set as the external grade (designated by the green check mark). It is a running total grade for a course section.
How do you flag that the running total is the learner’s final grade? There are two ways you can do it now.
If your Blackboard Learn grade center does not have a “Completed” column, and you are basing course-section completion by every categorized grade center column having a value other than null (for example, 10 of 10 assignments). We’ve added a global parameter called “ENROLLMENT_IS_COMPLETED_FORMULA”.

Blackboard Achievements Blackboard Achievements is a tool which allows you to designate criteria for issuing rewards to students in the form of badges and certificates. Before creating Achievements you will need to: Make the Achievements tool available on your module. Create the item, video, quiz etc. you wish to associate the Achievement to.
Achievements description. The achievements description describes the achievement and identifies the criteria students must meet to receive a reward. There are three achievement types: Course Completion: The certificate reward is required. An additional badge is optional. Milestone: The reward can only be a badge.
The achievements tool allows instructors and course designers to designate criteria for issuing rewards to students in the form of both badges and certificates. Students can see which rewards they've earned and what's required of them to receive additional rewards, providing insight into learning progression toward defined competencies.
Each achievement must have at least one reward identified during set up. The reward is the item awarded upon meeting the required criteria. It is given in the form of badges and certificates.
