Log into your Blackboard course and go the Control Panel: Click on Grade Center. Select Full Grade Center. Click the Manage button. Select Grading Schemas from the drop-down menu. You should now see the Grading Schemas page shown below.
In the Grade Center, access the Manage menu and select Grading Schemas. On the Grading Schemas page, select Create Grading Schema and provide a name and an optional description. The name appears on the Grading Schemas page and in the menus for Primary Display and Secondary Display when you create or edit columns.

A grading schema takes the actual points scored on a graded item and compares it to the total points possible for that item to derive a percentage. This percentage is mapped to a range of scores and displays a grade, such as a letter (A, B, C) or CR/NC.
Click on the names of the columns and/or categories you want to use in the calculation (left pane). Then click the > button to pop them over into the Selected Columns section (right pane). Once you have selected your columns/categories, enter the desired percentages in the boxes for each column/category on the right.

If you set up a Weighted Total, then it does not matter how many total points there are possible in the course assignments; there could be 100 points total, or 450, or 2175 for all the assignments. The final grade will be calculated proportionately according to the weighting scheme.

To edit a schema, move your cursor to the right of the Schema name you wish to view or edit and click on the chevron to reveal the drop-down menu options
From the Grading Schemas page, click the Create Grading Schema button which will take you to the Create Grading Schema page shown below.
A Grading Schema must be applied to each Grade Column individually by choosing the Schema as either the Primary or Secondary Display option. There is no option to apply the Schema to all or multiple columns in a single step.
