ASU's grading policy outlines the value of each grade (A = 4.00, B = 3.00, and so on) that is used when calculating the GPA.
When you complete the course, the instructor must submit an online grade change request. If you receive an "I" in an undergraduate course in the fall 1983 or thereafter, your grade will be automatically changed to a failing grade "E" if you do not complete the course within one calendar year.
Failing grades are counted as hours attempted and not completed, so they will negatively affect your Pace Rate. You must pass at least 67 percent of the courses you attempt to remain eligible for federal and institutional financial aid. Pace Rate is measured annually after spring term.
Student Option: To encourage students to venture into courses where they might otherwise hesitate because of uncertainty regarding their aptitude or preparation, they may enroll in certain courses on a pass/not pass basis.
