The minimum/maximum column is a type of calculated column that displays either the minimum or maximum grade for a selection of columns. For example, you can find the minimum score on all tests, but only show it in the Grade Center grid and not to your students on their My Grades pages.
Locate the Weighted Total column in the Grade Center. Click the Action Link (drop-down arrow) in the column heading, then select Edit Column Information from the menu. If you do not have a Weighted Total column, create one by clicking Create Calculated Column > Weighted Total. Required: Fill in the column name.
The WEIGHTED TOTAL column enables instructors to set the weight (or value) of individual assignments and assignment categories independent of the number of points in an assignment. If you set every assignment to 100 points but count one assignment as 10% and another as 25%, this is the column for you.
About the total column The total column generates a grade based on the cumulative points earned, related to the points allowed. You can select which columns and categories are included in a total column's calculation. When you create a total column, you can include other calculated columns.

If you set up a Weighted Total, then it does not matter how many total points there are possible in the course assignments; there could be 100 points total, or 450, or 2175 for all the assignments. The final grade will be calculated proportionately according to the weighting scheme.

The weighted system calculates grade items as a percentage of a final grade worth 100%. The Max. Points you assign to individual grade items can be any value, but their contribution towards the category they belong to and the final grade is the percentage value (weight) assigned to them.
Interpreting your Weighted Grade: For instance, an exam may be worth 100 points but be 15% of your grade, while homework may be worth 1,400 points but only be 10% of your overall grade. Under the Select Columns section, click on a column or category to include in the weighted grade. Use the arrow to move the selected column or category to the Selected Columns area. The Grade Center is accessed from the Control Panel in any Blackboard course. Click the arrow to the right of the Grade Center menu link to access the full Grade Center. *Note: If you have created an Assignment, Test, or other graded assessment, the corresponding column will automatically be created.
