Data tables
Each of the topics that cover data feed formats contains detailed tables that describe each data attribute. The following columns appear in the data feed attribute tables:
IMS standard
XML files processed by Snapshot conform to the IMS standard. Additional data, specific only to Blackboard Learn, is handled by extending the IMS standard with the element <EXTENSION>. Blackboard supports both the IMS 1.0.92 and the more recent IMS 1.1 standard.
Create an XML file for Snapshot
Begin the XML file with the <ENTERPRISE> element. It is possible to include different data types, such as Course data, user data, and category membership data in the same XML file.
Preparing the installer properties
The new Blackboard Learn installer does not have a User Interface. As such, there are no forms available for collecting the data at install time. In order to specify this information, the installer requires a flat file containing the configuration information previously entered during installation.
Fresh installation
The following example shows what a installation.properties file might look like. For completeness, the settings for both SQL Server and Oracle are listed, but please only use the one that corresponds to your installation.
Upgrade
The Q2 2016 release contains an upgrade for ActiveMQ. It is important that the ACTIVEMQ_MSGS table is empty before performing your upgrade. If you are a self-hosted customer and need assistance with this action please open a case with Client Support.
