How to Access Blackboard. You can access Blackboard (Bb) with your FIT username and password at http://fitnyc.open.suny.edu. As long as your department has assigned you as the instructor of your course in Banner, your course will appear in Blackboard.
Logging In To log in to Blackboard, go to fitnyc.edu.open.suny.edu in your web browser. (DO NOT add “www” to the address.) Enter your FIT Username and Password (same credentials as you use for MyFIT and Google Workspace). Once you have entered your credentials, click Login.

FIT RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS To earn a one-year associate degree, students must complete at FIT a minimum of 30 credits as required by the major. To earn a baccalaureate degree, students must complete at FIT a minimum of 60 credits as required by the major.
Admission to FIT is selective. All applicants—full-time, part-time or in the evening/weekend degree program—must meet the same admission standards. Candidates are evaluated based on class rank, grades in college, preparatory coursework, and a student essay. We generally consider applicants with a strong B average.

All visiting students accepted to FIT will complete the 1 year AAS curriculum as prescribed in the current FIT Undergraduate Catalogue. Visiting students should expect to remain at FIT for two semesters and then return to the home institution to complete their bachelor's degree.
