If your instructor has allowed for subscriptions to a forum, you can click a button and subscribe to the forum and receive an alert via email when new posts are made to that forum.
When you subscribe to a discussion-board forum or thread, you will receive an email that will alert you when a peer or instructor has replied to the thread.
