LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment in Blackboard. When students use LockDown Browser to take a Blackboard test, they are unable to print, copy, go to other websites, access other applications, or close a test until it is submitted for grading.
This view allows the instructor to see the duration of time the student used to take the exam, how many minutes facial recognition was successful, how many minutes they were facing the webcam, and the number of flagged events.
After the quiz has been duplicated, open to the "LockDown Browser" Dashboard from course navigation bar, click the dropdown to access the quiz settings, change the setting on the quiz to "Don't require Respondus LockDown Browser for this exam", and click Save + Close. 4.Oct 23, 2019

Lockdown Browser does not monitor or record student activity. uses the students' webcams to record video and audio of the exam environment. It also records the students' computer screens.
Your instructor will let you know if an online exam requires the Respondus LockDown Browser application. After you have installed Respondus LockDown Browser (see How to Install and Use the Respondus LockDown Browser), open the application. You should not have to ask your professor.
When ready, the teacher provides students a start code for the online exam – students start LockDown Browser from there. The teacher can then watch students via the video conference system for the duration of the exam.
Respondus lockdown browser cannot detect mobile phones or mobile devices because it is designed to operate in a computer and apply the webcam.Mar 7, 2022
