What does Chelsea do at Concord?

As a member of the advancement staff, Chelsea fosters relationships with university donors and researches new donor opportunities to support the Concord University Foundation. “Our alumni and donors are so important to the university,” Chelsea says. “They provide funding for scholarships and campus projects that keep Concord the special place it is.” Chelsea also helps coordinate special events like Alumni After Hours, Foundation dinners, and Homecoming festivities. She says these events “allow Concord alumni, donors, students, and community members to gather and stay connected to the university and each other.” A graduate of Concord herself, Chelsea understands the importance of staying connected to CU and supporting all the university does for its students. “Concord has become a second home to me. I truly love this place.”

What major is Taylor Carter in?

Taylor says she realized teaching wasn’t for her, but she really loved the geography classes she was taking. Now, Taylor is a Political Science and Geography double major. Her interest in politics lead to her involvement in SGA, and she is currently the president of that organization. Taylor is also in Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honor society, and Phi Alpha Delta, Concord’s pre-law fraternity. Concord’s small size was another factor in Taylor’s decision to come to Athens. During her time here, she says a smaller campus allowed her to explore a number of ways to get involved and feel known. “Once you find your niche at Concord, you’ll never want to leave,” Taylor says.
