Collaborate uses notifications to let you know what's happening in your session. These notifications tell you when there are new chat comments. The Collaborate pop-up notification stays on the screen for a few seconds then disappears. It tells you if you have a new chat message, if there are more than one, and what chat channel the comment is in.

Moderators supervise all private chats: When selected, moderators can see everything that is said in private chat channels. An alert appears at the top of the private chat channel informing users that the chat is being supervised. If you don't select it, you don't see the private chat channels.

Collaborate's chat history only has 50 messages displayed at any given time. Scroll through the messages or use the hidden keyboard controls at the top of the Chat panel if you use a keyboard to navigate.

Session owners, course instructors, and administrators can always download recordings. The Allow recording downloads check box lets others download the recording. Select this option to let your attendees and students download recordings. You can turn this setting on after the session has ended.
You can download chat transcripts from the Recording menu. Chat Recordings and transcripts are only available in the HTML5 recording player. Moderators can also make chat messages in the recording anonymous from the session settings. This needs to be done before starting the live session and recording it.
You can have multiple recordings during one session. If you decide to continue recording a session after you have stopped, a new recording is saved and added to the list of recordings for that session.
Collaborate sessions open in a new window or tab depending on your browser settings. Go to the course tab or window, if you want to view the course content during a session.
You are not able to use the link to join session again or share your link with another user. Session links expire after 5 minutes. If offered by your institution, you can use the telephony feature to communicate with other users. To learn more, see Join by Collaborate Teleconference.
Event details include the name, date, and time of a session. Decide if the session is open ended or recurring. Make the name something meaningful for your attendees so they know what the session is for.
If you want to run multiple sessions at the same time for students to use as virtual study room, for example, you can create multiple sessions for the different groups to join. Course group tool: If it's for long term group work, create groups in your course and give access to a Collaborate session.
You can also have all attendees join as presenters or moderators. From the list of Sessions, find a session. Select Session options and Edit settings. Select Presenter or Moderator in the Guest Role menu.
If the attendee joined from a guest link, they can use the guest link to join again right away.
No. Moderators can't be removed. You can only remove participants, presenters, and captioners.
