Select Blackboard Reach from the universal navigation bar. Channels are imported from your SIS system. Activate a channel to allow channel members to create direct messages. Channel members present in the SIS are automatically added to the channel when you import. Toggle the slider next to the Channel you want to activate or deactivate.

The problem occurs when you are using Safari on a Mac computer. You are able to login to myCommNet but when you click the link to Blackboard it requires an additional login. This is usually due to the browser not accepting cookies. You could workaround this by using a different browser such as Chrome.
