What is a blackboard used for?
Blackboard can be used for asynchronous courses or for developing supplementary materials for courses taught over ITV, compressed video or traditional classroom instruction.

Requirements/Limitations
- Users of Blackboard must have Internet access. Other hardware such as microphones or web cameras may be required depending on the course and will be identified by the instructor. You must also be running an up-to-date web-browser with cookies, Java, Flash, Shockwave, and PDF-viewing enabled, and pop-up blockers disabled. You can check your browser's compatibility here.

- Blackboard is an enterprise system available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week other than scheduled outages for maintenance.
