Ally is a tool from Blackboard that integrates seamlessly with the UW's Canvas learning management system to automatically check accessibility of course content, including files uploaded by instructors.

You can turn Ally on or off in every existing course from the Ally Configuration page. Select Disable/enable all courses and select Disable or Enable. Select Enable in future courses if you want Ally automatically on in all new courses.
Go to Ally Configuration and select Features. Find the feature you want to turn on or off and select it. Translated version alternative format: Students can download a translated alternative format of an original file.
Checking Course Accessibility You can use the Accessibility Checker in the Canvas Rich Content Editor to identify and fix issues in your announcements, pages, assignment and discussion prompts, and so forth. The accessibility checker button is positioned as the last button on the Rich Content Editor toolbar. After selecting the icon the Accessibility checker menu will appear on the right hand sign of the screen.
