You can add a link to the course menu for instant access to the blogs tool. You can also customize the name of the link. Select the plus sign above the course menu. The Add Menu Item list appears. Select Tool Link and type a Name for the link. From the Type list, select Blogs. Select the Available to Users check box. Select Submit.

To access the group area, click on the link on the Course Menu. Your instructor may also include a link to the group tool inside your course's content areas (i.e. Learning Modules, Content Folders, etc.). Once you are a member of one or more Groups, they will appear in a panel called My Groups under the Course Menu.

NOTE: Blogs that are made 'public' in Blackboard are only available to the students registered in the course. A journal, like a diary, is for recording personal reflections. By default, journals in Blackboard are private between a student and instructor, but they can be shared if the instructor wishes.
