If you do not participate in a class and do not withdraw, you will receive a failing grade. Federal and institutional rules require ASU to review your financial aid eligibility if you receive any EN (Failure Due to Never Participating) grades.
When you complete the course, the instructor must submit an online grade change request. If you receive an "I" in an undergraduate course in the fall 1983 or thereafter, your grade will be automatically changed to a failing grade "E" if you do not complete the course within one calendar year.
icourse: Fully-online course developed for “immersion” students (students who physically attend classes on one of ASU's physical campuses). These courses are managed by the academic unit.
An iCourse is any class that is taught fully online for students enrolled in traditional, on-campus degree programs. Starting with Spring 2015, the schedule of classes has been updated to refer to all of these courses as iCourses.
If you were first admitted to ASU in fall 2008 through today, you can repeat any ASU course in which you have a “D” or “E” grade up to 12 hours. You can replace both upper- and lower-division grades, but only up to 12 hours of attempted repeats.
In fact, a “D” is considered passing in both high school and college, as it's above 60%. While a passing grade may be as low as 60%, you will want to aim higher for many reasons. As a college student, you don't want to aim to barely pass a class.
E = the student has exceeded the grade level standard(s) M = the student has met the grade level standard(s) P = the student has partially met the grade level standard(s) D = the student did not meet the grade level standard(s)

C - this is a grade that rests right in the middle. C is anywhere between 70% and 79% D - this is still a passing grade, and it's between 59% and 69% F - this is a failing grade.Jan 10, 2022
