To fix a PDF file not opening in Adobe reader, you will need to download the latest version of Adobe Reader. After which you will disable the protected mode that comes with it by default. Once this is changed, the issue of the PDF file not opening in Adobe reader will be resolved.May 30, 2021
Try to update your Adobe Acrobat Mobile app first. And reset the preferences for the Acrobat mobile app. Embedded links dont work in the Adobe Reader mobile version.
If links are not working in your PDF, you should use the Export feature of MS Word 2013 or Save As feature of MS Word 2007. When I exported my ebook as a PDF, I found that all the links in PDF were intact and clickable. Go to File menu and then select Export To option. Then click PDF or XPS.

There are a number of reasons why PDF files may refuse to open. The PDF file may be password-protected, damaged, or incompatible with Adobe Acrobat. Your installation of Adobe Acrobat may also be out of data or damaged, which may cause problems when you try to run it.
Apparently there is a bug in Acrobat 10.0 (if you have the full version) which doesn't allow the PDFs to open. If this happens (i.e. nothing happens when you click on a documentation button), please force your PDFs to 'Open With' the Adobe Reader instead of Adobe Acrobat.
Scroll down and select "PDF documents," then switch it to "On." PDF files will download in Chrome just like any other file. You can select the downloaded file at the bottom of the window, then choose "Open," which will open the file in a separate Reader window. Select the "Always open files of this type" option.
